Two policemen and a pedestrian were injured in an explosion near a traffic police box in Chattogram’s Sholoshar Gate No-2 area on Friday night.
Of the injured, traffic sergeant Arafat Hossain sustained burns to his face in the explosion, which occurred around 9:30pm, said Mohammad Shahidullah, deputy commissioner (traffic north) of
Chattogram Metropolitan Police. Besides, another policeman and a pedestrian suffered minor injuries but their identities could not be known immediately, our Chattogram correspondent reports quoting Shahidullah. The injured were taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), said Shahidullah. When informed of the incident, a bomb disposal unit of the CMP rushed to the spot and cordoned off the place, he said. “It is a mysterious explosion. We are looking into the mater,” the police official added.
