Chattogram Custms Authority (CDA) seized a consignment worth about Tk.3 crores at Chattogram Port on Thursday .
Customs sources said an importer of the port city imported Bright Polished Steel Pipes with false declaration declaring Cutting Blade fro m China. Acting on secret information, the unstaffing department officials of CPA detained the delivery of the consignment and in presence of the C&F agent of the importer , physical inventory of the container was done and found the finished steel pipe instead of cutting blade. Customs said as per declaration of the importer in the bill o entry, the duty and taxes comes Tk 67 lakh but actually depending on good so imported comes Tk 2 .24 cr.
Now the total cost of the consignment stands at Tk.3 cores 9 lakh , sources said.
