CoU correspondent :
Comilla University (CoU) administration is going to reforming a well decorated and informative website , said the university’s registrar Professor Dr. Md. Abu Taher.
The current website does not have enough information for foreign students, university portfolios or departmental notices. Although the students expressed their frustration at various times, no such work was done with the website.
Katib Hasan Murad, a student of Finance and Banking, said, “When we enter the website, we only get information from a few faculty and faculty members, not important notices or information in a timely manner. A university website needs to be more accessible and informative.
Regarding the inadequacy and limitations of information on the website, Md. Masudul Hasan, Assistant Database Programmer, IT Cell, said, “We have started the process of creating a well decorated and necessary information possessing website. Already, letters have been sent to some software firms. Budget discussions are underway with them. We hope to make the new website available to everyone in a very short time.”
In this regard, the Registrar (additional responsibility) Professor. Md. Abu Taher said, “We have formed a committee headed by Rashidul Islam Sheikh Sir (Associate Professor, Department of Public Administration) for the new website.”
The committee will discuss the software firms and provide a modern website to the students.
It is learned that the administration has allocated 10 lakh taka for the new website.
Associate Professor of Public Administration Md. Rashidul Islam Sheikh, who is in charge of the website forming committee said, “We have prepared the content and sent letters to 10 reputed companies of the country. The companies will display it in front of all the university family, from there we will select 3. Then we will select the best of the 3 and give them work. The deadline is set for 15 February”.
