A college student suffered serious injuries in a crude bomb explosion at Nazira Bazar Goshnagar in Burichong upazila early Thursday.
The injured was identified as Riazul Islam, 17, a student of Comilla City College. The blast occurred

on the ground floor of his grandfather’s four-storey building where Riazul and his cousin Sohag used to live, said Md Shah Abid Hossain, superintendent of Comilla Police after visiting the spot around 10pm.
He said Riazul lost one of his wrists and sustained injuries in another hand in the blast around 2am that also broke the door and two windows of the room. After the explosion, locals rushed in and rescued the injured. He is now being treated under police custody at Comilla Medical College Hospital. Police also detained Sohag, 14, who received minor injuries, during the blast. Law enforcers also cordoned off the house after the incident.
