UNB, Faridpur :
A female college student was killed and 20 others were injured as a bus plunged into a ditch beside the Dhaka-Barisal Highway in Nagarkanda upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Munmun, 19, a class XI student of Uttara High School and College in the capital, and she hailed from
Islampur village in Babuganj upazila of Barisal.
Sub-inspector Atiur Rahman of Nagarkanda Police Station said the Barisal-bound bus of ‘Eagle Paribahan’ from Dhaka skidded off and fell into the ditch beside the highway in Bashagari area around 7:00am as the driver lost control over the steering, leaving Munmun dead on the spot and 20 passengers injured. The injured were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and Bhanga Upazila Health Complex.
