Following the rivalry between Chhatra League and Jubo League activists, 18 railway supply contractors could not drop their tender papers in Railway East zone headquarters at Chittagong on Wednesday.
Chase, counter chase happened between the two groups of the ruling cadres occurred. it is learnt that 25 tender papers were sold for supply of Ti Breaks accessories of Tk.1.50cr to East zone.
Sources said that 2 groups of the ruling activists were lobbying to procure the work order for this tender. Chief controller of Stores, Railway sources said only three tender papers were dropped within the specific time of tender submission on Wednesday.
The other contractors could not drop the tenders following the oppositions by the ruling party cadres, sources said.
A reliable sources said scuffle happened in between the supporters of BCL leader Alam Ferdous and the Jubo league leader Mohiuddin group leaves four persons including a contractor were injured .
Railway sources said only two tenderers named BCL supported M/sNur Elahi and the Mohiuddin supported firm quoted the lowest bid, sources said.
