Chittagong Division bagged gold medal in the Girls’ Division of the Volleyball Competition of the Bangladesh Youth Games beating Sylhet Division by 3-0 sets in the final at the Volleyball Stadium on Wednesday. Sylhet Division won silver medal.
Khulna Division earned bronze medal defeating Mymensingh Division by 3-0 sets in a place-deciding match in the same division at the same venue.
Meanwhile, Khulna clinched gold medal in the Boys’ Division of the Volleyball Competition beating Chittagong Division by 3-2 sets in the final at the same venue on the same day. Chittagong Division got silver medal.
Dhaka Division won the bronze medal beating Barisal Division by 3-0 sets in a place-deciding match in the same division at the same venue.
After the ending of the competitions, President of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) and Chief of Army Staff Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest. Secretary General of BOA Syed Shahed Reza, Deputy Secretary General of BOA Ashiqur Rahman Miku, Vice-President of BOA Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, President of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation and Inspector General of Bangladesh Police Dr Mohammad Javed Patwari, Secretary of National Sports Council Masud Karim and President of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation Md Atiqul Islam were present at the time.
