The 27th anniversary of two literary magazines – Chayan and Doshdiganta and 16th founding anniversary of Chayan Sahitya Club were held at Poet Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the National Museum in the city’s Shahbag area recently. In the programme, ‘Chayan Sahitya Club Gold Medal-2017’ was also given and noted folklorist Dr Ashraf Siddiqui written, Aziza Khatun Haque translated the book titled The Face of Bangladesh and Mohammad Zillur Rahman edited book titled Lalon Shah: Bohumatrik Mullayon published by Chayan Publisher, and litterateur Wasim Haque’s rhyme book titled Sabuj Gayer Holde Pakhi were unveiled on the occasion.
Chaired by poet Lily Haque veteran journalist and cultural activist Kamal Lohani was present as the chief guest, while Vice Chancellor of Jagannath University Dr Mizanur Rahman, social activist Selina Khaleque were also present as special guests in the programme.
Noted litterateur Aly Imam, noted singer Dr Nashid Kamal and educationist Khondoker Hasina Begum were also present as key discussants in the function. Secretary Aktari Momtaz, Moshih Uddin Shaker, Editor of Begum magazine Flora Nasrin Khan, educationist Sabekun Nahar, among others, spoke in the programme.
Later Dr Nashid Kamal, Rezaul Karim Hitlu, Obaedur Rahman, Laboni Singh and Swapan Chowdhury rendered songs. Coordinated by translator Md Nurul Haque the event was hosted by Wasim Haque.
