The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka yesterday fixed August 20 to hear on charge framing against eight persons, including JKG Healthcare Chairman Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury and her husband Chief Executive Officer of JKG Ariful Haque Chowdhury, in the case filed over issuing fake Covid-19 test cerificates.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sorafuzzaman Ansari of the CMM Court fixed the new
date on Thursday, as the accused prayed for more time. The court also rejected the bail pleas of the accussed.
On August 5, DB Police filed the charge-sheet of the case to the court. The six other accused people are Abu Sayeed Chowdhury, Humayun Kabir Himu, Tanjila Patwari, Biplob Das, Shafikul Islam Romeo and Jebunnesa.
The Investigation Officer (IO) and DB Inspector Liakat Ali mentioned accused Sabrina and Arif in the charge sheet as the masterminds of the scam and the others as their accomplices.
One Kamal Hossain filed the case with Tejgaon Model Police Station on June 15 on the charge of issuing fake Covid-19 test reports.
