The BNP on Friday accused the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of not allowing the army to work independently to improve the law and order situation.
“The Election Commission is not allowing the army to work independently to improve the law and order situation,” said BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan office in the capital.
He said, “Everyday the AL men and the police are attacking the BNP and the Jatiya Oikyafront men across the country.”
“All the incidents are taking place under the supervision of the government and the Chief Election Commissioner,” Rizvi said.
The BNP leader expressed hope that the voters in every constituency will rush to voting centers tearing the nets of obstructions.
“The voters will rush to the polling stations severing all nets of oppressions. The people are determined to bring a change,” he said.
Rizvi said, “The countrymen have been united in favour of the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol ahead of the election.”
The BNP leader criticised Awami League President Sheikh Hasina for her comment that the BNP-JOF might unleash subversive activities during polls.
He said, “It is well-known to all that AL is a production house of lies.”

The BNP leader said different law enforcement agencies along with the ruling party men have created a horrific situation by carrying out attacks on the BNP leaders and the activists in particular across the country.
He claimed that around 10,833 leaders and activists of the party were detained since the announcement of the polls schedule on November 8.
Alongside, the ruling party activists carried out around 2,896 attacks on BNP men that left nine people dead.
