CCC vows to consider lowest rate in holding tax assessment

The meeting of Finance and Settlement Standing Committee of the Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) was held at Mayor A J M Nasir Uddin’s residence in the city on Sunday evening.
The meeting decided to exempt 100 percent surcharge on holding taxes and trade license fees. The meeting also decided to fix the slab construction fees in the lowest rate. The meeting was chaired by the Ward Councilor Shafiul Alam.
Addressing the meetings, Nasir Uddin said, “We will take necessary actions to make the roads and footpaths free for the vehicles. So, we will evict the illegal occupiers from footpaths as well as make the city traffic congestion free one.”
He said the corporation would take action against the unregistered rickshaws easy bike soon. “There is no option to run unregistered rickshaws and battery run autos in port city.”
Nasir Uddin further said that the City Corporation is considering the sufferings of the city dwellers. So decisions have been taken to exempt 100 percent surcharge on holding taxes and trade license fees. “We also decided to fix the slab construction fees in the lowest rate.”
He urged the committee members to work hard to implement the projects and make Chittagong clean and green one. Among Ward councilors, Najmul Haque Duke, Majharul Islam Chowdhury, Hasan Murad Biplob, Farjana Javed, Secretary of CCC Abul Hossain, Chief Revenue Officer Dr Mustafizur Rahman, Chief Accounts Officer Mohammad Saifuddin also addressed the meeting.
