Chittagong City Corporation(CCC) has chalked out a daylong programme to observe the 39th anniversary of martyrdom of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day on August 15 next.
The daylong programs of the NMD includes hoisting of national flag half-mast in CCC head office, ward offices and all city corporation- run schools and colleges at early morning of August 15 , essay completion, drawing competitions by the school and college students and Milad Mahfil in all ward offices.
The decision of the observing the National Mourning day was taken at a emergency meeting of the Corportion on Sunday held with Chief Executive officer of CCC Ali Ahmed in the chair. A CCC sources said all intending students of the schools and colleges have been advised to submit their essays on Struggle of Bangabhandu to Education Department of the corporation by August 13 next.
The drawing competition will be held at Nagar Bhaban on August 15 morning. Khame Quoran, Milad mahfil , organs gatherings will held at Laldighi Jame Mosque premises at 10 am. An special prayer and discussion meet will be held at CCC Auditorium in Nagarbhaban .
Among others in the meeting, Secretry of CCC Rashid Ahmed, Chief Education Officer Md. Shahidullah, Chief Revenue Officer Ahmedul Hoque, Chief Planner AKM Rezaul Karim, Superintending engineer Eyakub Nabi , Deputy Secretary Saifuddin Md. Katebi, Law officer Sarwar Aam, Chief Accounts Officer Md. Saifuddin and Executive Engineer Monirul Huda were present .
