Local Government Minister Tajul Islam, MP said, the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has to work in coordination with other govt agencies in the city. He said mayor is called the Father of the City. The minister made the remarks while laying the foundation stone of canal excavation project from Bahaddarhat Baripara to Karnafuli River in Maijpara of the city on Saturday.
The minister said Chittagong is called the second capital of Bangladesh. It is the gateway to the country. Political leaders and the people irrespective of opinions have to realise the importance of the port city. If you do not realize this importance, development will be hampered. How much good governance can be established in terms of development? Development depends on how much the councilors are able to keep the area clean and increase public participation.
