BSS, Dhaka :
Awami League presidium member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said there is an attempt to spread poisonous air of communalism in the country.
“All the forces loyal to the spirit of the war of liberation should remain united and vigilant against such a conspiracy. We should never let the conspiracy of the defeated forces of 1971 be succeeded,” he said.
Mohammad Nasim said this on Tuesday while speaking at the chief guest at a reception ceremony in the capital city.
The World University of Bangladesh organised the function to accord reception to Emeritus Prof Anisuzzaman on his being decorated with the third highest civilian award of the government of India “Padmabhusan” at the auditorium of National Museum here. Vice-chancellor of the university Prof Dr Abdul Mannan Chowdhury chaired the function on the occasion.
Mohammad Nasim said, “Prof Dr Anisuzzaman is the pride of our country. He has still been struggling against communalism. He has encouraged others to choose the path of truth and ethics. Prof Anisuzzaman brought a rare international laurel for the country.”
In response to the reception accorded to him, Prof Anisuzzaman said, “The main goal of the war of liberation is yet to be achieved. The goal could not be achieved till the implementation of the spirit of the war of liberation. The country has still been passing through crisis of values.” The eminent academician said the defeated forces of the Liberation War have been throwing challenges to the pro-liberation forces after gaining strength afresh. Prof Anisuzzaman hoped that the young new generation and the women folk of the country would contribute largely to establish the spirit of the war of liberation.
