A group of Dhaka University students allegedly set fire to a bus after beating its two staff on the university campus on Tuesday evening.Sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said some DU students had an altercation with the staff of ‘Sky Land Paribahan’ bus plying Abdullahpur-Sadarghat route a few days ago.As a sequel of the incident, some 50 DU students went to Golap Shah Mazar area of Gulistan on Tuesday evening and forcibly took control of a bus of the company.They took the bus to the playground of Shahidullah Hall of Dhaka University, said the DMCH sources.At one stage, the angry students beat two staff of the bus- supervisor Md Milon, 22, and helper Md Faruk – and set the bus on fire around 6:40pm.Being informed, a fire-fighting unit went to the spot and doused the flame, said station officer of the Fire Service Central Control Room Ataur Rahman.Injured Faruk and Milon were given first aid at the DMCH.
