BSF injures Bangladeshi cattle trader

Indian border security force (BSF) shot and injured a Bangladeshi cattle trader in Dharmapur frontier at Kashipur union under Phulbari upazila of Kurigram district on Wednesday.
The victim was Khairul Islam, 32, son of Shahidar Rahman of Anantapur village of Kashipur union under the Phulbari upazila and a cattle trader.
BSF men denied the firing incident in a flag meeting was held between BSF and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on no-man’s land of the border at 11:00 am as a protest letter was sent to the concerned BSF camp at the morning, said Subedar Abdul Majid, Kashipur Company Commander under 45 BGB battalion in Kurigram.
The BGB sources said a team of some Bangladeshi cattle traders including Khairul Islam went to the border to bring Indian cattle at around 12:05 am. The patrol BSF man of Seuty-2 BOP (under Cooch Bihar district in West Bengal state) fired them while they tried to receive cattle from Indian cattle traders near border pillar No. S-8/942 at the Dharmapur village.”In the BSF firing, Khairl received one bullet and injured seriously. Now he is taking treatment secretely in a clinic of Rangpur divitional town,” the sources said.
