British citizen found dead at Uttara hotel

Police have recovered the dead body of a British citizen from a hotel in the capital’s Uttara area on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Dugland Finlans who came to Bangladesh with a tourist visa.
According to sources, at 9:30am, Dugald Finlayson’s friend Dong Hao Peng knocked the door of the room Dugald in the hotel.
When there was no response from inside the room, the door was opened with the help of the hotel authority with a duplicate key. Dugald Finlayson was found in the washroom.
The hotel authorities informed it to the Uttara east police. Later, Finlayson was taken to the Bangladesh Medical Hospital at Uttara for treatment.
Upon arrival, duty doctor in charge declared
him dead and the body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Officer-in-Charge of Uttara West Police Station Mohammad Nasim confirmed the matter to the media saying that police recovered the dead body around 9.30 am on Thursday from a room of Hotel Merino. The body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy, the OC said.
The police said that the actual cause of death would be known after the post-mortem.
Police had also quizzed his friends Pan Lian and Dong Hao Peng. But Police suspect that he died from his illness.
