British High Commissioner Robert Chatterton Dickson on Wednesday said, bringing back acting Chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)
Tarique Rahman to Bangladesh may take time.
He said, he will take it up with the authorities of his
country to find out how and under what legal circumstance Tarique has been staying in London.
The High Commissioner said this while talking to reporters after a meeting with Law Minister Anisul Huq at his Gulshan residence on Wednesday morning.
Anisul Huq said, the government has sought cooperation of the UK government in bringing back Tarique Rahman.
“The High Commissioner told me that he would discuss the issue with his government. He said also it’s a legal issue and it can take a long time,” said the minister.
“We hope, we’ll get a positive response from the UK government.”
