BR to evict illegal occupants from Rly land: Minister

 Railway Minister Adv Nurul Islam Sujan said , the illegal occupants will be evicted from the Railway lands, quarter or bungalows, including illegally occupied land, in need of Bangladesh Railway(BR).
Land and quarters will be recovered from those who involved in illegal possession and sale of Railway land or quarters. Legal action must be taken against those involved in land grabbing and quarter sale.
 Wealth of Railway is not individual’s property , it is the wealth of the state. At the same time, all railway properties will be regularized. This is being done for the development of the Railway. Later, steps will be taken to bring them into the discipline gradually.
On the return journey to Dhaka, after three-day visit to Panchagarh, Railway Minister was answering the questions to journalists at Saidpur Airport on Sunday.
The Minister also said that due to notice of eviction this time, to recover the land and infrastructure of the Railway in Saidpur, those who have been illegally occupied by the brokers, will apply for a new lease. Those who are illegal they have the opportunity to apply. If they will apply without any broker, Government will consider their application.
About the deplorable condition of the Saidpur Railway Workshop, Railway Minister said that the workshop would be renovated soon with modernization at a cost of Tk around 1.5 cr.
Aftab Uddin Sarkar, Member of Parliament for Nilphamari-1 Constituency and Akhtar Hossain Badal ,General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Saidpur Upazila and Former Municipal Mayor were present during minister’s visit.
