BOU observes Amar Ekushey

Bangladesh Open University (BOU) observed ‘the Shaheed Dibash’ (Amar Ekushey) and the International Mother Language Day’ in a befitting manner on Monday.
Marking the day, BOU teachers and officials led by Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Syed Humayun Akter paid glowing tributes to the language martyrs by placing wreath at the Shaheed Minar on the university campus in Gazipur, said a press release here.
Pro-VC (admin) Professor Dr Nasim Banu, Pro-VC (academic) Professor Dr Mahbuba Nasreen and Registrar Dr Mohd Shafiqul Alam accompanied the VC, among others, placed the wreath.
Later, BOU Teachers’ Association and other social, cultural and professional bodies of the university placed wreaths at the Shaheed Minar.
Earlier, in the morning, VC Professor Dr Syed Humayun hoisted the national flag at half mast and Treasurer Professor Mostafa Azad Kamal hoisted the black flag on the campus.
Along with the main campus of the university, its 12 regional and 80 sub-regional centers across the country observed the day with similar programmes.
