‘Border killings increased’

Trans- border killings have been increased in the south-west region as the Indian government has taken steps to check cattle smuggling very recently.
 The Indian Border Security Force killed seven Bangladeshis and wounded nine others while the one Indian national nation was also killed by the force in the first four months of 2015.
Brig Gen DSM Shahidul Islam, Additional Director General and also Regional Commander of BGB unveiled the information in a views exchange meeting with journalists at his Jhumjhumpur based office on Tuesday noon.
The meeting was attended among others by Lt Col Azizul Islam, director, logistic, south-west region, Lt Col Mujibul Haque Shikder, Bureau Chief, South- West Regional Intelligence Bureau, Lt Col Jahangir Hossain, commanding, 26 Border Guard, Lt Col Shahidur Rahman, Director, South-West region, Maj Liakat Ali, Additional Director, 26 Border Guard Battalion and Maj ATM Ahsan Habib of Border Guard Bangladesh and Jahid Hasan Tukun, president Jessore Press Club, Monotosh Basu, vice -president and journalists Saifur Rahman Saif, Nur Islam, SM Sohel, Kazi Ashraful Azad and Tohid Moni.
