Bokul directs play for first time

Arjumand Ara Bokul has been working for more than 20 years as an enlisted actress of Bangladesh Television. During this long time though many plays were made under her written stories but for the first time she has given direction of a play. There is also reason behind giving direction of the play.
Basically Bokul is now completing a course on Television Programme Production at Bangladesh Film and Television Institute situated at Mirpur’s Darus Salam Road in the city. She is a student of third batch of this course. Of nine-month course she has already completed seven months. As a student, she has to make a 10-minute play titled Smritir Janala. Bokul has already finished its shooting. Dolly Zahur played in an important role in the play.
While talking about her making the play Bokul told this correspondent, “Regarding story of my play I wanted to cast Dolly Apa. After reading the script she agreed to work. Later I really became delightful. She is my dream heroine. This play is my dream work. I am really grateful to her. After editing I am fully satisfied with my work.”
Bokul also informed that this time she has to submit the play for taking part in examination but it will be screened in different festivals later.
In 1996, Bokul first acted in a play titled Hisab Nikash on BTV. She is a regular actress in both TV and big screen. Recently she has finished shooting of Wajed Ali Sumon’s movie Mone Rekho. From August 4, she is going to take part in shooting of a new movie titled Preme Onek Jwala. Under Ferdous Hasan Rana’s direction she has recently finished shooting of new daily soap Ek Pa Du’Pa. It will be telecasted on Nagorik TV soon. Therefore, Bokul acted two serials Palki and Tui Ke Aamar are being aired on Deepto TV and Asian TV respectively now.
