Bodies of four passengers missing on Sunday (June 17) noon after capsizing trawler on Karkhana River due to erosion at DC ghat station of Kakarda under Faridpur union of Bakerganj upazila not recovered till this report on Monday noon.
Masuduzzaman, officer in charge of Bakerganj police station, said missing victims were identified as Nila, 14, daughter of Firoj Khan from west Faridpur, Ripon, 14, son of Hiron Mia and Imran, 15, son of Jamal Chaprashi from Nalua of the union under Bakerganj upazila of Barishal and Hafsa, 4, daughter of Al Mamun of Jamalkathi under Dhulia union of Baufal upazila of Patuakhali district.
Habibur Rahman, coordination leader of fire service rescue team, said they with the help of local police and people resumed searching operation for the missing on Monday Morning. The operation was suspended on Sunday evening due to speedy current and shortage of sufficient light
We already marking the capsized trawler tied that to prevent floating away. Till this report no dead body was recovered, Habibur added.
Mentionable the river crossing ill fated trawler was tied with the terminal pontoon for loading and unloading passengers. It was capsized on Sunday noon after huge amount of eroded mud falling on the trawler capsized it with more than 20 passengers.
