BOA arranges fun run in city as part of Asian Games campaign

Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) arranged a fun run in the capital on Monday morning as part of their campaign for the 18th Asian Games scheduled to be held in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang from August 18 next year.
Leading sportsmen of 45 Asian nations are expected to participate in the biggest sports carnival of the continent.
Some 500 sportsmen, organisers, sports lovers and students of Physical Education College participated in the day’s fun run that started from Bangladesh Football Federation office in Motijheel and concluded on the Bangabandhu National Stadium premises.
The fun run was headed by BOA secretary general Syed Shahed Reza and a two-member delegation of OCA and Asian Games Organising Committee, now in Dhaka.
BOA vice-president Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, deputy secretaries general Asaduzzaman Kohinoor and Ashiqur Rahman Miku were, among others, also present on the occasion.
On completion of the fun run, BOA distributed certificates among the participants and handed over medals to 30 participants through lottery.
