City Desk :
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said BNP is trying to create public sufferings in the name of forming alliance after being boycotted by the people.
“There are 8-9 persons in their (BNP’s) alliance, who never can win any election. The alliance has some persons who had killed people in 1971,” she said this on Thursday at the inaugural ceremony of a building of Lalmia Government School under Bandar upazila in Narayanganj district.
Dipu, also Awami League joint general secretary, hoped the people will cast their votes in favor of AL as the AL government is marching forward the country in an indomitable speed.
Turning to education sector, the minister said there are wrong conceptions among people about vocational, technical and technology-based education that off-springs of poor family and less meritorious students receive technical education.
But, a student can be able to get a good job at home and abroad by receiving technical education after passing SSC or HSC examinations instead of staying unemployed even after being graduate and post-graduate, she mentioned.
She said the government is making strides to bring qualitative change in the education sector. The minister also joined foundation laying ceremony of a dormitory of Fine Arts Institute at Deubhog. Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Mayor Dr Selina Hayat Ivy chaired the function while State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain and Narayanganj Zila Parishad Chairman Anwar Hossain also spoke on the occasion as the special guests.
