Staff Reporter :A group of miscreants attacked BNP’s Assistant Office Secretary Taiful Islam Tipu on the second floor of the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the city on Tuesday.Witnesses said, the miscreants entered the office at about 10.00 am and attacked Tipu, but none of miscreants could not be identified. BNP office employees said that Tipu was carrying out party’s organisational activities sitting in the office room on the second floor. At one stage, 10-12 youths stormed into the office room and started beating the BNP leader, leaving him injured. The fled the scene hurriedly. Tipu said that he had no idea as to why he was attacked because there was no enmity with anybody. Earlier on June 14 this year, unidentified miscreants also attacked BNP’s Assistant Organising Secretary Abdus Salam Azad in the office in the same style.On May 19, Abdus Salam Azad was made BNP’s one of the assistant organising secretaries and Taiful Islam Tipu as one of the assistant office secretaries.Meanwhile, BNP’s International Affairs Sectary and the party’s current spokesman Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon condemned the attack on Tipu. In a statement, he said that it is a matter of concern that miscreants attacked our two leaders inside our party headquarters within months. Dr Ripon demanded arrest of the attackers and punishment to them. He said their party would form a probe team to look into the incident.
