Chittagong Bureau :
A leader of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chawkbazar Unit was assaulted and injured by the miscreants on Tuesday.
He was admitted into a local hospital for treatment.
Md. Nasir Uddin (31), son of Abul Khair was going to city’s Chawkbazar area from Dewanhat by rickshaw at around 10.30pm on Tuesday.
On the way, some 4-5 unidentified miscreants of an opponent political party carried out a sudden assault on him with rods and sticks at Tiger Pass area.
At this he received injuries on different parts of his body. The miscreants fled the spot leaving him injured. Later, he was rushed to a private hospital after being rescued by the local people.
