A newly formed organisation called Bangladesh Lyricist, Composers and Performers Society (BLCPS) will work to preserve the financial and moral interests of the musicians of the country.
The BLCPS has officially started their journey at a press conference held at the National Press Club on August 25.
To start its journey, a seminar was held on the occasion where how the lyricists, musicians and singers are deprived under the copyright law of Bangladesh was discussed. The ways to overcome the challenges were discussed as well.
The president of BLCPS singer Sabina Yasmin, the Chief Executive Officer Sujit Mustafa, General Secretary Hamin Ahmed, singer Fuad Naser Babu, Maksud, Ayub Bachchu, Shuvro Dev, Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Copyright and Industrial Property (IP), Forum and Legal consultants of BLCPS Barrister ABM Hamidul Mijbah were also present at the conference.
The leaders of the BLCPS said that for a long time they have been deprived and deceived by the audio companies, TV channels, Telecom companies, FM radios and different websites. Day by day musicians from all over the country are joining the organisation.
The organisation has already got their approval from government, they said.
