BJMC, Jamalpur, Naogaon and Panchagarh DSAs reached the semifinal of the Walton Air Conditioner National Youth (U-19) Female Handball Tournament eliminating respective rivals at Shaheed (Capt) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium here on Friday.
In the semifinals on Saturday, BJMC will face Jamalpur DSA at 3 pm while Naogaon DSA will meet Panchagarh DSA at 4 pm at the same venue.
In the day’s 2nd round matches, Jamalpur DSA beat Jessore by 15-8 goals (1st half 8-5 ); Panchagarh DSA defeated Kushtia DSA 20-10 (1st half 11-2); Naogaon DSA outclassed Jamalpur 15-3 (1st half 5-3).
Earlier, in the 2nd round matches on Thursday, Naogaon DSA trounced Jessore DSA by 19-1 goals while BJMC outclassed Kushtia DSA 21-5 at the same venue.
The final match will be held on Tuesday (August 26) at 3:30 pm while the 3rd place deciding match between two losing semifinalists is scheduled for Sunday (Aug 24) at 3:30 pm.
