Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Kazi Aminul Islam underscored the need for developing telecommunication sector to build a prosperous Bangladesh. “Next world will be information and technology based. There is no alternative without developing telecommunication sector. The sector is playing a vital role to develop the country,” he said. The BIDA chief said this recently while meeting with a delegation of Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh (AMTOB) at the BIDA headquarters in the city, said a press release.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted different issues including SIM tax, mobile import tax, licence fee, 4G network expansion and establishment of 5G network in future. Aminul Islam assured the delegation to provide all sorts of support to develop the sector.
