Nadampur High School, one of 17 educational institutions that receive support under Chevron’s Quality Education Support Initiative, was recently recognized by the Sylhet Education Board as the Best Secondary School in Nabiganj Upazila (under Habiganj District).
The school administration took this opportunity to celebrate this honor with Chevron Bangladesh President Kevin Lyon at a function recently, said a press release.
When Lyon arrived, he was felicitated at a local high-school near the Bibiyana gas field, during his inaugural visit to the community.
The school authority expressed their appreciation for the key role played by Chevron in improving the quality of the learning environment for their students.
Nadampur High School has been a recipient of Chevron’s support since 2006. Aside from distribution of annual scholarships to underprivileged and meritorious students, Chevron also provided endowment fund for future sustainability, funding for additional teachers, in-house computer labs, school uniforms and sports equipment.
