Bhabadah Movement body hands over memo to DC

Bhabadah Movement Committee on Tuesday handed over a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, Jessore to convey the message to the prime minister demanding to solve water strangulation problem of Bhabadah affected areas immediately.
In the memorandum, it was stated that water is ruling around 80 per cent areas under Bhabadah. People of the area are still living in inhuman conditions.
The committee, in its memorandum, placed five -point demands including inauguration of tidal river management programme before Maghi Purnima, ensuring food security to the affected people with subsidy and rehabilitation, removal of silts from the river Upper Bhadra and Buri Bhadra, freeing obstacles from all the recognized canals after recovering those from grabbers and ensuring free flow of water by removing every obstacles from the related rivers and canals.
Iqbal Kabir Jahid, Adviser, Bhabadah Movement Committee and also polit bureau member of WP, Baikuntha Bihari Roy, coordinator, Gazi Abdul Hamid, Chaitanya Kumar Paul, Kanu Biswas, Bhagirath Halder, Shamsul Alam, Bazlur Rahman, Anil Biswas and Zillur Rahman Bhitu were present during handing over the memorandum to the deputy commissioner, Jessore. The committee, on October 24, 2017 announced road march movement towards the office of deputy commissioner, Jessore from Bhabadah from November 16 to 19 to press its five- point demands.
