The Education Ministry has decided to hold the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations from November 1.
The Ministry took the decision in a meeting of National Monitoring Committee on Public Examinations Moderation on Thursday.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid presided over the meeting. Acting Education Secretary Aruna Biswas, Director General of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Directorate Professor Fatima Khatun, Additional Secretary of Home Ministry Rakhal Chandra Barman, Chairman of Dhaka Education Board Professor Abu Bakkar Siddique, DIG of Police Headquarters Binoy Krishna Bala, Additional DIG of CID Mokhlesur Rahman, among others, were also present.
Nurul Islam Nahid said that the Ministry was going to take effective initiative
to check the question leakage. “The Ministry will also take stern action against those people who will try to leak the question and cooperate with the culprits,” he said.
“To make the initiative fruitful, we have asked the police and the intelligence agencies to bring the officials and employees of BG Press under surveillance. We have already given the photos, personal and family mobile numbers to the police and intelligence agencies. Besides this, CCTV has been set up to check the question leakage and identify the culprits. We believe that we will win,” the Education Minister said.
The Minister warned of action against those people spreading rumour on Internet and other social media. They would be brought to justice under the ICT Act.
“The law enforcing agencies will bring the activities of photocopy shops and coaching centers under surveillance to stop them leaking the questions,” Nurul Islam Nahid said.
He criticized the teachers who take photo of question and send it to the students and outsiders through Whatsapp and bluetooth and said that they should not continue in teaching. They rather should go for theft.
