BEXIMCO Communications Limited (BCL) Thursday launched the country’s maiden Direct-to-Home (DTH) service, offering finer picture and sound quality of television with the use of a device at clients end.
According to BCL statement the service brand named “RealVU” was launched initially appointing dealers in Dhaka, Sylhet and Chittagong, though the TV viewers could use system anywhere in the country.
“RealVU customers will be able to watch 105 channels with our package and enjoy digital quality picture and clear sound,” the statement quoted BCL’s Chief Executive Officer Dmitry Lapitskiy as saying.
He said the package would involve “the most popular TV channels including five in HD format” and was aimed to change the viewing experience of the country’s television viewers.
“Moreover, the RealVU subscribers will enjoy other advantages such as recording function and smart electronic program guide”, Lapitskiy added.
The statement said RealVU would be available from the select dealers in the three cities initially at a cost of Taka 4,499 excluding VAT while one customer would have to pay Taka 300 as monthly subscription charge.
It said in getting the RealVU service, a customer would need to buy a set-top box and a dish antenna from the authorized dealer while the company would give them a two-year warranty for the device, which would be installed at the clients end by the BCL technicians.
