BES gets new President

 Prof Dr Engr AKM Fazlul Hoque, Registrar of Daffodil International University (DIU) has been elected as the President and Dr. Dilip Kumar Saha, Member (Physical Science), Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) has been elected as General Secretary of Bangladesh Electronics Society (BES) for the year 2017-2018 at the election held recently at the Auditorium of Atomic Energy Center, Dhaka. Prof Dr Engr AKM Fazlul Hoque joined as Adjunct Professor in CSE Department of Faculty of Science and Information Technology on February 01, 2011 and took the responsibility of Registrar on on November 01, 2013.
Before joining DIU, he served as Director, Atomic Energy Centre, Dhaka (AECD) and as Head of Accelerator Facilities Division of AECD. He had thirty three years of research experience in Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC). He served as `Philips Research Fellow’ in the department of Applied Physics and Electronics of Dhaka University. He has been regularly supervising PhD, MPhil, and MSc theses.
He obtained M Sc in Applied Physics and Electronics from Dhaka University in 1976 and PhD in Physics (Nuclear Technology) from Jahangirnagor University in 2002. He had been graduated in Electrical Engineering (B. Sc Engg) from IEB in 1982.
Prof Hoque has more than twelve years of experience of organizing national and international training courses, conferences, symposium, workshops, etc. He has a total of 54 (fifty four) research papers in his credit.
He is an elected Central Council Member of IEB for the terms 2011- 2012 and 2013- 2014. He was the General Secretary of Bangladesh Electronics Society (BES) from 2000- 2016and Vice President of Bangladesh Physical Society (BPS) during 2010 and 2011. He has been working as a Member of Asian Committee for Future Accelerator (ACFA) since 2004.
He was born in 1953 at village Patira of Fulbaria Upazila under Mymensingh district.
