BDRCS distributes meat among 200 families in Rangpur

Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) with the assistance of Turkey Red Crescent Society (TRCS) distributed meat and other materials among 200 distressed and extremely poor families here on Thursday.
The sacrificial animal meat and other materials were distributed in two separate ceremonies arranged at Mithapukur upazila parishad and Kawnia upazila parishad premises with Rangpur unit Secretary of BDRCS Shah Md Nabi Ullah Panna in the chair.
Mithapukur upazila chairman Zakir Hossain Sarker and Mithapukur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Harun-Ur-Rashid attended the ceremony at Mithapukur while Sarai union chairman and life-term member of BDRCS Ashraful Islam and Motahar Hossain Dalu attended the ceremony at Kawnia.
Accounts Officer from the National Headquarters of BDRCS M A Mannan, its Rangpur Unit Level Officer Mostafa Kamal, Wash Project Officer of its Community Development Initiative Tanvir Anjum Rahman and Project Organiser Rezwanul Karim Riju were present.
Youth Unit Chief Hasnayen Ahmmed Nayan conducted his responsibility as volunteer of the Unit Disaster Response Team of Rangpur unit of BDRCS in arranging the distribution ceremonies.
Under the programme, five kilogram meat processed by Bengal Food Company, one litre edible oil, one kilogram onion, 500 gram garlic, one packet spices and one of chocolate were distributed among each of the beneficiary families in the ceremonies.
Talking to BSS today, Shah Md Nabi Ullah Panna expressed his gratitude to the authorities of TRCS for providing assistances ion distributing the sacrificial animal meat and other materials among the distressed and extremely poor families of Rangpur.
