UNB, Dhaka :
Bikolpo Dhara Bangladesh (BDB), led by Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, on Sunday said it will not take the final decision on joining the next general election until proper atmosphere is ensured.
“We’ll take all the preparations to take part in the next election, but we won’t take the final decision until a congenial election atmosphere is created,” said party presidium member Mahi B Chowdhury.
He came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after the first meeting of the reconstituted BDB presidium members at B Chowdhury’s Baridhara residence. Mahi said their party is strict to their demand for holding
the election under a neutral government. He said their other demands include not using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), deploying army with magistracy power and releasing all the political leaders and activists arrested in political cases. Chaired by B Chowdhury, the meeting was attended, among others, by BDB presidium members Abdul Mannan, Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, Golam Sarwar Milon, Abur Rouf, Prof Awara Begum and Mahi. Mahi said the meeting decided that Shamsher Mobin will work as B Chowdhury’s foreign affairs adviser as his additional charge. He said some more political leaders are likely to join BDB at a programme on November 2.
