The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has encouraged pacer Mustafizur Rahman to play in all three formats during the West Indies (WI) tour in June.
Bangladesh Cricket Board cricket operations committee chairman Jalal Younus said to the media on Saturday that they have already informed Mustafiz about it and BCB is going to reveal the squad today.
“We want him to play Tests in the West Indies. We told him we wanted you. Let’s see what he says. It will be clear by tomorrow [Sunday]. You will know when the team will be announced tomorrow. The selectors will give the team for West Indies series tomorrow,” Jalal said.
Fizz, who is currently playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Delhi Capitals, is already contacted the selectors and it will be clear after giving the squad.
“We have told him to play. Mustafiz did not want to play. We said you have to play. Because we don’t have two front-line bowlers. We think Mustafiz’s service is essential here. We informed him. He has contacted the selectors. After giving the team, you will understand” he added.
In June, the Tigers will play two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is in the West Indies. The first Test will be held on June 16 in Antigua, followed by the second on June 24 in Saint Lucia.
Bangladesh will go to the West Indies on June 6.
