Ankur Cricket Academy take on Clemon Indira Road Cricket Academy in the lone inaugural match of the first ever BCB Academy Cup cricket scheduled to begin today (Sunday) at City Club ground.
The match kicks off at 8.30 am.
The tournament, participated by 32 private cricket academy, will be held at three separate venues in the city and it’s adjoining area. BKSP and Dhaka University ground are the other two venues.
For the first time BCB are arranging the BCB Academy Cup under the pilot project for BCB. The cricket body has plan to pick some good players from the tournament and arrange a 5-6 weeks training for them in the future.
The main motto of the tournament is to create more excitement among the young players and BCB has plan to bring the semi-finalist teams under BCB game development to give them more facilities.
The tournament will be 40-over format which will continue till June 5. Below 18 years but more than 15 years are taking part in the Academy Cup.
The champions team will get Taka 1,00,000 while the runners-up team will have Taka 50,000 as the prize money.
