Dutch star Arjen Robben is set to return for Bayern Munich in Saturday’s Bundesliga showdown against Borussia Dortmund after battling a leg injury.
“I’m hoping to play and I believe it will be ok,” he told German magazine Kicker.
The 30-year-old sat out Bayern’s 3-1 win at Hamburg on Wednesday in the German Cup second-round clash, as well as last Sunday’s goalless Bundesliga draw at Borussia Moenchengladbach with a leg injury.
Robben has already scored five goals this season including two in the 7-1 drubbing of Roma in the Champions League and also netted twice in Bayern’s 4-0 romp at home to Hanover 96 in the league.
He has scored five goals in his last five games against Dortmund, including the winner in the 2013 Champions League final and also netted in Bayern’s 2-0 extra-time win over Dortmund in May’s German Cup final in Berlin.
Bayern are four points clear in the Bundesliga while 15th-placed Dortmund are 14 points behind the league leaders after losing four consecutive league matches for the first time for 15 years.
