The 2nd year students of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) formed a human chain on Sunday morning demanding to hold their semester final examination immediately.
Sources said, at around 11:00am about 200 students gathered in front of Bijoy’71 and formed a human chain. Among the students, Mithun, Anik, Joy, Siam and some other students, spoke.
The students said, “University administrations dilly-dally with our examinations. The administration plays game with our future. If they would not arrange examinations immediately, we will go for tougher actions.”
While contacted BAU acting students affairs advisor Prof Dr Abdul Momen Miah said, “If the students would agree to pay full semester fee that administration allocated from their session, we will manage to hold their exam within a week.”
It is to be mentioned that, on the first week of June, in the face of agitation the administration decided to reduce the semester fee from 1200 to 400.
But disagreeing with that the students continued the agitation. Accusing the students for breaking university rules, university authority issued show cause notice to 29 students of that session.
Meanwhile, the semester final examination of other academic sessions has started but 2nd year students are yet to sit in their examinations.
