Bashundhara blank Swadhinata KS 2-0 in BPL Football

Star-studded Bashundhara Kings started their second phase of TVS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football with a happy note as they blanked Swadhinata Krira Sangha (KS) by 2-0 goals on Sunday at Muktijoddha Smrity Stadium in Rajshahi.
In the day’s match, Brazilian midfielder Miguel Figueira scored both the goals for Kings who led the first half by 2-0 goals.
Miguel Figueira opened an account scoring the first goal for Kings in the 28th minute while he doubled the lead scoring the second goal for Kings in the 37th minute of the match.
Swadhinata Krira Sangha, placed at bottom of the point table, hardly offered any resistance in the whole proceeding.
The new comers of the league however did not concede any goal in the second half.
Bashundhara Kings completely dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory on the day while Swadhinata Krira Sangha were totally off-colored.
The day’s win saw, Bashundhara Kings maintain their domination in the league table with 29 points from 12 matches while Swadhinata Krira Sangha remained at their previous credit of six points playing the same number of matches.
Earlier, in the first phase, Swadhinata Krira Sangha stunned Bashundhara Kings by 2-1 goals held at Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi.
Bashundhara Kings will play their next match against Uttar Baridhara Club scheduled to be held at Bashundhara Sports Complex in Dhaka on April 29 while Swadhinata Krira Sangha meet Mohammedan Sporting Club on May 1 at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla.
Meanwhile, four matches will be held today (Monday) where Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra will play against Abahani Limited, Dhaka at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj at 3.30pm, Bangladesh Police Football Club meet Saif Sporting Club at Muktijoddha Smrity Stadium in Rajshahi at 3.30pm, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra meet Mohammedan Sporting Club in their home venue Bashundhara Sports Complex in Dhaka at 3.30pm and old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society play against Chittagong Abahani Limited at Sylhet District Stadium, Sylhet at4.15pm.
