Bangladesh Women’s Football team stormed into the final of the SAFF Women’s Championship drubbing Bhutan Women’s Football team by eight goals to nil in the first semi-final at Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal on Friday.
Sirat Jahan gave her team early lead using a pass of her compatriot Monika Chakma in the second minute of the play. But it was a bad news for Bangladesh outfit as Sirat Jahan left the field in the 13th minute of the match after getting injury.
Captain of Bangladesh Women’s Football team Sabina Khatun doubled the margin using a through pass of her teammate Maria Manda in the 18th minute of the game.
Krishnarani Sarkar made it 3-0 by a header using a cross of her teammate Rituporna Chakma in the 30th minute of the clash.
After four minutes, Rituporna got the ball on her way as the Bhutan goalie failed to grip the ball and Rituporna made no mistake to tap the ball into the blank net.
After the lemon-break, Sabina Khatun scored her second goal using a pass of her teammate Sanjida Akter in the 53rd minute of the game.
Masura Parvin increased the tally into 6-0 after getting the ball from the Bhutan Custodian, who failed to grip the ball of a free-kick of Sabina Khatun in the 56th minute of the match.
Substitute Tohura Khatun made it 7-0 in the 87th minute of the match.
Sabina Khatun fulfilled her hat-trick in the injury time of the second half. It was Sabina’s second hat-trick in the SAFF Women’s Championship. She scored her first hat-trick against Pakistan.
Earlier, Bangladesh made an auspicious start thrashing Maldives by three goals to nil in their first Group-A match on September 7.
Bangladesh retained their winning streak thrashing Pakistan by six goals to nil in their second Group-A match on September 10.
Bangladesh maintained their supremacy defeating India by three goals to nil in their third Group-A match on September 13.
Bangladesh emerged the Group-A champions collecting maximum nine points from three matches while India became Group-A runners-up with six points from three matches.
Bangladesh will face Nepal in the final. Nepal beat India by a solitary goal in the second semi-final at the same venue on the same day.
