Bangladesh Rugby team off to Thailand

Bangladesh Rugby team left the city on Thursday for Thailand to take part in the Asia Rugby Sevens Trophy at Pukhet in Thailand. The two-day long rugby competition will be held at Pukhet on April 9 and April 10.
Marking the rugby competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday. President of Bangladesh Rugby Union (BRU) Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, MP, General Secretary of BRU Mousum Ali, Joint-Secretary of BRU Sayeed Ahmed and Junior Officer of First Security Islami Bank Limited (FSIBL) Md Saiful Islam were present at the conference, among others.
A total of seven teams will take part in the rugby meet. They are: Bangladesh, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan, Chinese Taipei, Thailand-A and Thailand-B.
Bangladesh Army have provided the expenditure of the tickets of Bangladesh rugby team, while FSIBL gave Taka five lakh to Bangladesh Rugby Union and BRU will bear rest of the expenditure.
