Bangladesh finish 2nd in Youth ODI

Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team finished 2nd in the tri-nation Youth ODI tournament losing to host India by 7 wickets in the final at Jadavpur University Complex in Kolkata, India on Sunday.
Replying Bangladesh 116/10, India scored 117 for 3 in 13.3 overs to clinch the tournament title.
The 4th wicket unbeaten pair of 75 runs in 7 overs between Sarfaraz Khan and skipper Ricky Bhui spurred the Indian side in the final to clinch the tournament title.
Sarfaraz Khan hammered team highest unbeaten 59 off 27 balls featuring nine boundaries and four sixes.
Rishab Pant hit 26 off 16 balls with four fours and one six while skipper Ricky Bhui added run-a-ball unbeaten 20 with four fours.
Scoring 12 off 13 balls with two fours opener Washington Sundar was another double digit contributor for the champion.
Saeed Sarkar, Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Saleh Ahmed Shawon took one wicket each for 23, 27 and 35 runs respectively in 3, 4 and 3 overs.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Bangladesh young Tiger’ s were dismally all out for 116 in 36.5 overs.
Number four batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored the highest 45 off 66 balls including five fours and one six before being bowled out by Mayank Dagar at 96/5 in 27.4 overs.
Besides his individual score, Shanto pairing with Joyraz Sheik contributed a 54-run in 11.4 overs in the 3rd wicket stand to carry the team total to 67/3 in 18.2 from 13/2 in 6.4 overs.
Joyraz Sheik was caught by Washington Sundar off Shubham Mavi bowling scoring 28 off 40 balls with three fours.
The another double figure scorer Jaker Ali hit four fours for 24 off 32 balls and was trapped lbw by Mahipal Lomror leaving team total at 113/7 in 31.2 overs.
Mayank Dagar captured 3 wickets for 32 runs in 9 overs. Mahipal Lomror and Shubham Mavi took two wickets each for 11 and 21 respectively in 4 and 7 overs.
Debutant Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan took one wicket each conceding 11 and 18 runs respectively in 6 and 5.5 overs.
Bangladesh reached the final beating Afghanistan twice in the double-leg basis tournament while lost to India on both the occasions.
Bangladesh youth team made a frustrating start after suffering a 82-run defeat against hosts India in their first match and smartly bounced back to the race beating Afghanistan by four wickets in the 2nd match.
Touring Bangladesh again conceded four-wicket defeat against hosts India in their 3rd match and reached the final eliminating all-loser Afghanistan by 8 wickets with 153 balls remaining in their 4th and last league match.
