U-18 Asia Cup Hockey: Bangladesh beat India: Ashraful hits hat-trick

A brilliant hat-trick by Ashraful Islam powered Bangladesh Under-18 Hockey team to beat India Under-18 Hockey team by 5-4 goals in their opening Pool A match of the Under-18 Asia Cup Hockey at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Saturday.
The first half was locked 2-2.
Ashraful Islam of Bangladesh put his team ahead using a penalty corner in the 15th minute of the play.
Dharminder Singh of India leveled the margin by a penalty stroke in the 21st minute of the game.
After five minutes Konjengbam Singh of India increased the tally into 2-1 by a field goal.
Ashraful Islam of Bangladesh equalized the margin utilizing a penalty corner in the 30th minute of the encounter.
After the lemon-break, Ashraful Islam fulfilled his hat-trick capitalizing a penalty corner in the 38th minute of the clash.
After the match, Bangladesh’s hero Ashraful Islam expressed his
overall satisfaction over his performance and said “We worked hard
for the last one month and got the result in our favor and we will play our remaining matches to be the champions”.
“I worked hard and practiced especially on penalty corners under my coach that’s why result came in the day’s march,” he added.
Hardik Singh of India leveled the margin by a field goal in the 49th minute of the play.
After one minute Fazla Rabbi Hossain of Bangladesh increased the tally into 4-3 by a field goal.
Dilpreet Singh of India equalized the margin by a field goal in the 53rd minute of the match.
Ashraful Islam scored the match-winning goal using a penalty corner in the 62nd minute of the play.
