Bangladesh Army Blue team became champions in the Haji MA Rob Akhand Boishakhi Rugby competition beating Bangladesh Red team in the tie-breaker of the final at Physical Education College Ground in the city’s Mohammadpur on Wednesday.
The stipulated time was ended in 7-7 points.
Bangladesh Army Blue team, Bangladesh Army Red team, Bangladesh Army Green team and Bangladesh Army Yellow team took part in the Round Robin League basis first phase of the competition. Bangladesh Army Blue team and Bangladesh Red team gained the highest points of the League. Thus, Bangladesh Army Blue team and Bangladesh Army Red team moved into the final of the competition.
After the final match, General Secretary of Bangladesh Rugby Union (BRU) Mousum Ali, Joint-Secretary of BRU Md Mojibur Rahman, Secretary of the Tournament Committee Md Sarwar Rakib distributed the prizes among the winners.
