Brisk preparations taken to observe the 98th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day in the Port City yesterday.
Chittagong District Administration, different political parties and socio-cultural organizations have chalked out various programmes to mark the Day.
The programmes include children rally, placing of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, cultural function, discussion meeting, drawing competition and poetry recitation. On the occasion, Chittagong District Administration organised day-long programs at local circuit house, District Shilpakola Academy and Sishsu Academy.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ilias Hossain and leaders of different cultural organizations placed wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Shilpakala Academy. A children and juvenile rally will brought out from circuit house premises at 9 am yesterday.
Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) chalked out various programmes at DC hill premises and Abdus Sattar Auditorium of CCC yesterday . Chittagong City Unit of Awami League (AL) also organized a children and juvenile rally in front of Darul Fazal Market Awami League office yesterday morning.
Chittagong City AL paid tributes to the architect of the nation by placing wreaths at city’s Darul Fazal Market party office.
Chittagong North and South district units of AL also arranged separate children rallies and discussion meetings on the occasion.
Besides, separate discussion meetings also held at all educational institutions in the city and district under the auspices of respective authorities.
District Shishu Academy organized drawing competition, poetry recitation and cultural functions for children throughout the day.
Marking the day, Bangladesh Chhatra League also held discussion meetings on the life and works of Bangabandhu at all educational institutions in the city including Chittagong University, Chittagong Medical College, Chittagong University of Engineering Technology (CUET), University of Science and Technology in Chittagong and Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University.
