A Dhaka court yesterday cancelled the bail of an accused in the case filed in connection with the killing of Jubo League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milky after hearing on a petition of the Investigation Officer (IO) seeking cancellation of 12 accused of the case.
Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order as accused Sharif Uddin Chowdhury Pappu did not appear to the court yesterday (Wednesday).
Earlier, on November 11, the IO of the case Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Assistant Superintendent of Police ABM Siddiqur Rahman filed a petition seeking the cancellation of the bail of the accused in the case.
Milky, Organizing Secretary of Dhaka City (South) unit of Jubo League, was gunned down by his close associate Tarek, who was also the Joint Secretary of the unit, in fronto of Shoppers World at Gulshan of the capital in the wee hours of July 30 last year.
Hours after the incident, RAB arrested Tarek from a hospital at Uttara and on August 1, Tarek and another suspected terrorist, Shah Alam, were killed in a ‘shootout’ with some members of RAB.
Rashedul Haque, brother of the victim Milky, filed a case on the same day against 11 identified and some unidentified people.
