Begum Khaleda’s lawyers yesterday submitted bail bond on her behalf in the Zia Orphanage graft case.
The BNP Chairperson’s counsels Sanaullah Miah and Syed Joynul Abedin Mesba submitted the bail bond to the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Mazharul Haque on Wednesday afternoon. But, as the respective order of the Appellate Division
of Supreme Court did not reach the CMM Court yesterday, they were not given permission to submit the bond.
The court officials have been awaiting the permission of the Appellate Division to start the process in connection with the bail bond.
The Appellate Division on Wednesday upheld Khaleda Zia’s bail granted by the High Court in the Zia Orphanage Trust case. A four-member bench of the Appellate Division, headed by the Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, passed the order on Wenesday morning, hearing two leave-to-appeal petitions, filed challenging BNP Chief bail in the case.
